Literary Agent at Venture Literary

What makes your organization different than any other? I think we have a very comprehensive service agencies, focusing not only in the sale of this book, but the author’s overall career, as well as. I also think that we’re good at thinking creatively—putting the 9/11 report in graphic form, for example.

What are you looking for a special you like, you will see more? I have been looking for the novel, which is hybrid intelligent, literary style and charming plot. Like a book of Lionel Shriver, for example, we need to talk about Kevin, I read a sitting, still can not forget. And I’m always captivated by a strong voice, whether it’s nonfiction or new fiction book. One of my favorite novels will be coming out this January from Dial Press: The Slide by Kyle Beachy. And I feel very passionate about my clients’ nonfiction titles: The Lolita Effect: The Media Sexualization of Young Girls and What We Can Do About It by M. Gigi Durham, which is mandatory reading for every parent, and Hump: True Tales of Sex After Kids by Kimberly Ford is a totally entertaining (and titillating) read. In our institutions, we are dealing with a wide range of genres: narrative documentary, sports, business, biography, politics, history, novels, parenting, pop culture, public health.

What are you tired of receiving? I feel like we see a lot of queries for thrillers, and they all sound a little bit the same to me, so I’d love to see some kind of fresh, smart, character-driven thriller novels. I also feel like I’ve reached my saturation point with addiction memoirs; I think it must be part of recovery that you have to write a memoir, because I get what feels like a lot of queries about addiction and recovery.

How can you pay attention to new writers a good way? The best way to let me note that to write a decent query letter. It is surprising how many people do not know how to do this, so the letter is really a good come to the fore. I think having published credits, whether it’s short fiction novel in journals or newspaper or magazine stories, is always going to get my attention. I like more and more writers… Find them in literary magazines, the sale of their first book, and then later all the books. In the end this is a business of people, and it’s more personality driven than most writers probably realize. So in addition to looking out for fresh talent and marketability, I’m also looking out for people I want to work with, with whom I will be able to communicate easily and who will make the process fun and enjoyable. Life is too short for anything less.

Controversial new novel released

With the ongoing financial crisis, the world’s population transfixing, restart a new controversy over the novel who are the real puppet masters. Even the Church of England sits at the table of this secret society thriller. While the authors, Marie H. Cohen and Thomas jie wacker, claim, one of the secrets of the novel, a simple and others don’t so sure.

This fiction novel revolves around the DeSwan bloodline and how they- through proxy- control government leaders while continuing to cause confusion in a type zero civilization. Twisted in his thinking, this dark warrior, Duncan DeSwan, that his actions will continue to reach a civilian in a civilization of peace and harmony can once again rule the world.

Where fiction crosses over to reality is the reaction from groups featured in the novel to an easy to read but clever work of fiction. Often the truth hides in plain sight, an act sparingly featured in the fiction novel download which in itself is full of secrets.

According to the New York Times, America’s FBI in conjunction with the British MI6 will both claim they do not comment on potential threats made against authors, but some sources state privately that a shadow-type world leadership does exist- is based in London and featured in the new fiction novel.

Both Crain and Wacker, authors of Secrets One – The Series, were unavailable for comment while their business attorney’s office, Philipp C. Theune, Esq. located in Denver Colorado would only reiterate that the novel is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places and incidents are the products of the authors’ imagination or used fictitiously. In any event, the place with practical, or personnel, living or dead, completely is a coincidence.

The characters are some of the most solid I have read in the best thriller books in a long time. You actually find yourself enjoying Creel and listening to the inner workings of his mind. A real anti-hero, what kind of character you can see in the other books.

How To Write a Book and Make Money Faster

Would you like to proactively write a book and make money from it?

It is estimated that only 5% of authors become a bestseller.

What is even worse is that around one in a hundred authors actually make any significant money from their book . In fact most authors find it very hard to make back what they’ve invested.

How does that 1% do it? Even more important, can you become one of the few?

They’ve learned the secret for how to write a book, [get it publishedmake it a bestseller and for make a lot of money from them.

It isn’t purely luck, because some are able to do it over and over again.

There are many factors to writing a successful book, but I would like to focus on the three most important factors to successfully writing a bestseller and making a good profit.

If you figure out and put these factors into practice, you could get an extra6 to 7 figures from each book you write in the future.

Key Factor 1 – Design a business from each book so that you are {creating great products to go with the book}.

Your book is more than a lot of paper with words all over it. It transfers your knowledge for people to use and enjoy via a traditional format. You will achieve more success when you realize that you can communicate that same knowledge in other ways that sell just as well. When you’re thinking about your book, proactively plan your other products and services so that your book is an intentional part of your business. Not only will have a very [additionalbecause the book sells everything and everything sells the book.

Key Factor 2 – As your write the book, stick in all of the essential ingredients and some of the desirable ones, and you’ll find your book is easy to promote, market, and sell.

There are several ingredients that are absolutely essential to creating a bestseller, and some {of them} must be included from the beginning. There are also some highly desirable features which increase the value and marketability of your book. For example, you must have an ISBN number and a bar code, plus certain bindings and features so that retail stores can sell your book for you. There are also about 10 features that make your book much easier to sell{ and are therefore very desirable}. Some features that all New York Times Bestsellers have in common are: relevant quotes, testimonials, resources listings, captivating stories that make a point, and an index.

Key Factor 3 – Proactively begin pre-selling your book while writing your book and control pre-sales to the fullest extent possible so that your books will be purchased in the way and time that will do you the most good.

If you want to make your book a bestseller, then you should learn what it takes to do so. For example, not all sales of books help the book towards bestselling status and it’s extremely important to know which ones do. Keep the focus to only those that matter and compress the sales during the best time period. If you have done your homework and attracted the right sales volume you’ll have a guaranteed winner.

ACTION POINT: If you want to find outhow to write a book that makes money and becomes a bestseller, then you must follow the secret formula that the top 1% use to successfully achieve that goal. Make a decision to use the Key Factors outlined above and keep your eye on the ball, and you’ll hit a home run every time.

You have been chosen: a practical lesson, popular literature

Chances are that you have never heard of Horatio Alger. In his time, that is, during the last two decades of the XIX century, he was one the best-selling writers in the United States of America. Alger is the author of dozens of novels for young readers, most of his slums, wealth story.

“Shabby Dick” is his most famous book. Its protagonist, a quintessential Alger character, tries out his hand at different professions until he finally achieves the life of prosperity that he pursues. “He went into business,” wrote Alger in that novel, “starting in a small way, and worked his way up by degrees.”

If you read Alger’s fiction novels nowadays, you might find their plot too simple. His character, to a certain extent, stereotypes. Did Alger’s stories take place in exotic, exciting settings? No, that was mostly not the case. Alger is a well-known writers of his impressive ability to dialogue? Hardly. His prose is very good, but not spectacular.

This conclusion may be true, but, in my view, it is still an important aspect of the picture. If you read Horatio Alger’s stories, you will find that they address important life issues. His fiction novels, however simple and stereotypical, revolved around fundamental values such asambition, independence, and integrity.

“Keep up a little longer and we will save you,” wrote Horatio Alger in the final chapter of his best-selling book. “Dick Cheney heard the shout, and give new strength to his. He battled manfully with the treacherous sea, his eyes fixed longingly on the approaching boat. Hold on tight, little boy, there’s a boat coming.”

No wonder that those who read Alger’s novels in the late XIX century liked them so much. At that time, when the world was still untouched by radio, movies, and television, Alger’s top thriller novels was a bright sign pointing to a better future, telling each of his readers that he had been selected to make his dreams come true.

Want A Website?: Your Quick Guide to Getting Started

There are several incentives to have your own website these days. Maybe you’re intentions are to promote your services or expand your business to reach a worldwide client base. Maybe you want to showcase your art, literature, photography, or other work. Or maybe your real interest lies in using a website to generate quick profit through advertising and internet marketing strategies. Whatever your personal incentive may be, one question remains consistent: how should you approach the task of getting your own website? The answer to this question will not be the same for everyone. We’ll examine your options and the questions you’ll need to ask yourself to determine which choice will better serve your website needs.

Your Options

There are a total of three main options you can choose from as a means of getting your own website. The first of these takes the longest amount of time and is to learn how to create and maintain your website yourself. This route is fitting for anyone attracted to the idea of eventually starting your own web development business or possibly performing freelance work as a web developer. The only problem is it could take years.

The second route available, a much shorter process, is to use a web design/development company’s services. This will allow you to incorporate a highly advanced design and an unlimited amount of web functionality. Your website could be launched in just a few months. The drawback here would be the cost, which would escalate with your website needs and most often ranges from $500 to $6,000+. To get a better idea of what kind of costs you would be looking at for your specific web needs, you can request a free quote from various web design/development companies.

The third and final optional route, the quickest and cheapest, is to use an “easy as 1-2-3” website builder. This type of service may cost you as little as $5 a month. The first thing you’ll need to do in this “1-2-3″ process, is choose a pre-built website template which has been professionally designed. Subsequently, you make changes to the website by adding your text, graphics, and logo, if you have one. The final step is to publish it, and there you will have your very own website in just a matter of minutes. Although, as with anything, there is always a flaw–this route is constrained on both advanced web functionality and design.

Which Option is For You?

Now that you know your choices, there are a few questions you’ll need to ask yourself to help you decide which of them is right for you.

You should be aware of your financial allowance and ask yourself what kind of costs you are willing and able to take on and accordingly, what level of creative control on your website design you would be able to sacrifice in exchange for saving time and money.

If you have a limited budget, you may want to use the easy and economical “1-2-3″ website builder approach. Although, if you are not willing to negotiate complete design control, the only option you are left with is to take the time to hunt down the more suitable deal with numerous web design/development companies.

You’ll have to consider what kind of functionality your website will need. For instance, do you need to provide a newsletter email sign-up form or need to sell services or products? Again, if cost is of little or no importance, the best option is to go to a web design/development company. But, if you’re concerned with cutting costs, you can first decide whether or not a “1-2-3″ website builder can meet your web needs. These days you can even manage an online store with a simple website builder. It is important that you do your research instead of making assumptions about the limitations of a website builder.

As with anything, you always have the option to learn how to make a website on your own. If you have the time and will to put in the effort, the benefits will prove to be worthwhile. Acquiring these skills can empower you to evolve into a freelance web developer, get hired with a web design/development company, give you that technical upper hand that several various companies look for in a potential employee, earn money with advertising on your websites, and more.

Whether you want to learn new skills, give your business a web presence to boost sales, or just have the freedom to post your content, having a website can open up many opportunities for your cause. Take a moment to review your needs and choose the most reasonable approach to fulfill your website purpose.

The Perks of Writing a Novel

Let’s be honest here: Writing a new fiction book is no small task. Yes, I know that e-books have claimed to show you how to complete a new 30 days, but it can not do, at least not a new novels. The production of more than 70 million words is a challenge enough alone. But to learn the rules of how to plot a novel and how to create characters and all the rest of it (which is the position a newcomer would find themselves in)…well, let’s just say that two or three years is a more realistic estimate of how long writing a new fiction book will take you.

What is the payback period for all the hard work? What can you expect to get out of it?

Frankly, the privilege of writing will be a new type of each person is different. For some, their prize will be novel to make money is that they keep their eyes. For others, it may be to ensure that Hall of Fame (or God help you, celebrities). For many more, the creative challenge alone will be sufficient.

For what it is worth, here is what motivates me (and what doesn’t)…

First of all, this is not the money (honest!) Is not a wealth, a best-selling novel may not be welcome to my bank account, but I was lying, if I claim that it is money, I wrote a letter of motivation.

The same thing goes for fame. (I will be happy to the glare of the spotlight, thank you very much for.) Even the possibility of writing a truly great novel and going down in literary history doesn’t do it for me (well, maybe a little). You see, all these things are rewarding, you will receive your novel before publication. Before this can occur, you face many years of hard work, there is no guarantee that any publication. And even if your fiction books is published, it is unlikely to be successful enough to enable you to quit the day job (sorry, but those are the cold facts). To put it simply, if the fame and wealth, and then seek to write your novel may not be the best climb aboard the train.

Online Book Marketing – 5 Simple Ways to Gain More Readers

Online Book Marketing

The more I work with authors like you to help them grasp the ins and outs of online book marketing, the more I realize that there are 5 basic and fundamental mistakes that 90% of authors make time and time again.

If you can stear clear of these book marketing mistakes, you’re going to have a head start on everyone else…light years ahead. So, here are five things to avoid when marketing your books online:

1. Flawed Keyword Research

This is the #1 big kahuna and the place where 99% of authors quite simply stuff it up.

Most authors — including the ones I’ve worked with — haven’t had success using the Internet to market their books simply because they don’t approach the process the way someone who’s used to selling things online would do it. Namely, there’s almost never a plan put in place that will allow them to find, target and eventually dominate a set of keywords that are related to their books.

To succeed online isn’t rocket science, but it does mean that you need to truly grasp the concept of keyword research, of long-tail keywords, and how to determine which keywords are worth going after and which aren’t.

Thankfully there are tools out there that do all three. You can find that at the bottom of this article — just follow the links. Be sure to check them out.

2. Thin Content

Surprisingly, even prolific authors with many books to their credit — gifted writers who can write volumes on their subject — somehow think that they can skate by online with just a couple pages (or even paragraphs!) of content.

Simply not true.

The truth is that Google needs to see lots of content, steadily produced, in order to pay attention to you.

This is why giant sites like Wikipedia get so much love — and traffic — from Google. Google’s index includes millions of pages from their site.

How many of your site’s pages does Google know exist? A guess would be somewhere between two on the low end and five on the high end.

If you have the type of site, you probably won’t be able to get rankings for any search term besides your name. Bottom line: if you shortchange people online, you’ll destroy your reputation in a heartbeat.

If you want people to find your site online, and you want potential readers (e.g. potential FANS) to care once they get there, make it super clear why they should — give them great, amazing, spectacular content upfront, before you ask them to buy a thing.

3. Ignoring Social Marketing and Web 2.0

If you haven’t noticed, the Internet is changing. In just these past few years, sites like Digg, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Squidoo.com — and, of course, Twitter — have dramatically shifted the way we interact online.

Gone is the top-down approach of “yesterday’s” media, which is quickly being replaced by a bottom-up system where real people, not editors, decide what’s hot and what’s not.

In addition to the sites I talk about above, there are dozens of others that, collectively, represent one of the most remarkable opportunities for authors we’ve ever seen.

(See the links below for resources that will help you identify dozens of sites where you should be marketing your books.)

4. Ignoring the Importance of Building a Fan Base

It’s incredible how many writers don’t jump on the most powerful online marketing tool there is — the ability to build a base of support and loyal fans through tools like mailing lists, or “followers” on Twitter, or subscribers to an RSS feed, or any number of other methods that traditional Internet marketers use all the time.

Here’s why this is so important: it’s infinitely easier to sell to people who already know, like and trust you than it is to sell to people who have no idea who you are.

If someone has decided to buy one of your books, they’re going to be the easiest person to sell to when your 2nd, 3rd and 4th books come out.

But if you have no way to reach the people who bought your first book, you’re going to have to go through the entire “customer-acquisition” process each and every time for every new book.

Wouldn’t things be easier if you could just blast off an email or two to people who are already your fans?

Or simply to create a blog post to announce another book?

This is exactly the way an author can build an empire.

5. Focusing on the Sale

Huh? That’s definitely a mistake? But that’s the main point, right?

Maybe.

So here’s what I’m arguing: If you focus just on “moving product” (i.e. on selling books now) and ignore the other stuff you should be doing (see #4 above), you’re not going to be putting enough effort into building a real presence, and a loyal following, online. But it’s that very loyal following that can be counted on to buy many thousands of books time and time again.

What’s better, selling one or two books a day now, or selling thousands of books a day a year from now?

You don’t have to struggle.

Start to build your own information empire the same way many Internet marketers do. I’d suggest not trying to just sell a book here and a book there. Start focusing on getting great content out to the people who need your book.

Sales (at the kind of level you couldn’t have dreamed of before!) will inevitably follow closely behind.

If you aren’t generating a full-time income by marketing your infomation on the Internet, then you aren’t doing it right.

There’s no question that at least 90% of authors make crucial — but completely avoidable — errors when attempting to market books online.
